April Villafuerte

Hi, my name is April! Since I was a child, I have always wanted to be in the education field. During my junior and senior years of high school, I became a nanny for a family with two young children. After graduating high school, I began working at a preschool, and through that experience, I realized that I wanted to be a teacher.

I began the early childhood program at Austin Community College in 2018. During my time in school, I became a Lead Teacher, which I enjoyed so much. When the pandemic began, the school closed completely. Now, as I enthusiastically return to teaching at Lupine Lane, I am also returning to school to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Teaching and Marketing.  I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. I love my city and I’m proud to be an Austinite. I have two younger sisters. My role as the eldest has shaped me into a natural nurturer and educator, as I’ve taken care of my sisters, working with them academically and guiding them through life’s many paths. Being a mentor to my sisters showed me at an early age how much of a positive impact one can have as a teacher.

In my free time, I enjoy being active by going to yoga classes, the gym and running on Austin’s many trails. I love being outdoors and going to the lake, especially to paddle board. I have a lot of fun exploring Austin with my friends and family and playing with my golden retriever, Lady.
