Ni Hao, China!  This week will provide a broad yet in depth look at Chinese language and culture.  Children will learn the phonetic sounds of the language, grasp words and characters and begin to put phrases together.  They will gain an appreciation for the culture through a focus on traditional and modern Chinese art and calligraphy.  Kids will also gain a better understanding of daily life on the other side of the world, from using the Zodiac Calendar to experiencing common foods eaten everyday in China using chopsticks.  This camp may serve as a supplement to a current Mandarin program or as a springboard for future work with Chinese language and culture.
