Dear Lupine Lane Family,
It is with absolute joy and excitement that I write to you today. After two long years of working to bring our new school building to fruition, while finding temporary space in the interim and tripling in size both of those years, we are finally settled and absolutely elated!
Last summer, after much deliberation, I came to the conclusion that it would be impossible to continue teaching while my attention was necessary elsewhere so we could get to the next major point on this amazing journey.
It was at the Grand Opening that I realized yet again how happy I felt about all of your children, all of you and all of the wonderful people that this school has brought together. However, it still felt like something was missing. I thought about why that could be and thought back to our Holiday Performances in our room at Abercorn, our Thanksgiving Tree of Gratitude Celebration in the Owls’ Room at the Cottage and our End of the Year Celebration with all of the sweet kids I had the fortune of teaching during 2012-2013. I realized what was missing—the kids! The magic of teaching and being with the class day in and out, learning and growing together and then celebrating that. THAT was it!
So, I have decided to return to what got Lupine Lane started and teach Kindergarten at our school. I am absolutely thrilled to pour my heart into the children and their development in a specific classroom. I simply cannot wait to create a space and trajectory based on our philosophy, curriculum and developmental goals. I will guide the kids through amazing adventures that will foster growth of their whole person: academically, creatively, social-emotionally and physically. They will learn, laugh, grow and thrive through their special Kindergarten year–in school and in the world beyond.
Given that I founded Lupine Lane, I will still be involved in the overall direction and curriculum of the school, which is well established with our administration, our board and our staff. However, so that I can focus my attention back on the classroom, Donna Boyle will be joining our administration this year. Donna is familiar with the roots of our philosophy and curriculum and has a background in education and in administration she has also been working with Kaleigh, Carl, myself and our board so that she can best serve and nurture Lupine Lane and all of the wonderful people we serve.
I am incredibly excited to return to the very thing that gave Lupine Lane its roots: teaching. I cannot wait to meet the kids in Kindergarten and start an amazing school year with them. It’s going to be fantastic!
Fondly,
Founder and Teacher
