Hello to everyone!
First, we would love to thank the folks at Falcon Pointe for having us to tie-dye at the Summer Splash Bash! Â We had a great time and enjoyed seeing all of the wonderful, unique creations that everyone made!
Kid Kits are starting to go quickly!! Â A new Kid Kit, especially for Father’s Day, is making it’s debut! Â The Happy Hat Kid Kit ($14) includes everything a child needs to decorate a baseball cap, just in time to give it as a gift to Dad for his big day! Â The Mom or Dad and Me Frame Kid Kit ($17) is also a lovely way for children to create a one-of-a-kind gift for Dad.
The heat is on, and we are into the summer season! Â How exciting! Â On to this week’s classes!
This week in Lil’ Absolutely Art and Absolutely Art, we’ll be reading “Toy Boat” and creating our own toy sail boats! Â We’ll be painting the body of the boat and learn a bit about the parts, including the main mast and bow and the sail. Â We’ll also personalize the sail. Â Then, the kids will paint an acrylic painting on canvas of a sail boat sailing into the horizon. Â We will give a quick explanation of the vanishing point and creating a horizon on paper in Absolutely Art. Â Then, we’ll finish by having a toy boat race!
This week in Lil’ Kinder Cooks and Kinder Cooks, we’ll be reading “Clam-I-Am” and making New England Clam Chowder!  We’ll talk a bit about how clams live their lives inside of a tiny shell and learn how they survive in the vast ocean.  The kids will learn how to saute vegetables and how to make a cream broth.  And, everyone will get to try authentic New England Clam Chowder!  Deelish!
This week in Lil’ Music Makers and Music Makers, we’ll begin with an introductory song as well as a review of rhythm and marching. Â We’ll use “The Ants Go Marching” to practice our rhythmic and marching skills with instruments. Â Then, we’ll begin to learn more about the names of the fantastic instruments that we use with “Old Mac Donald Had a Band,” “The Spider on the Floor” and “The Dinosaur Song.” Â Finally, we’ll also use “Blue Bird Through My Window” to encourage interaction and group cooperation.
This week in Fun With Photography, we are asking that each participant bring a 3-D item that is special to them. Â We are going to learn how to situate objects and use lights in a photo tent. Â Then, we’ll bring some of our photos into Photoshop to create a black and white photo of our object in the tent. Â Also, those children that are signed up for the month and received a portfolio, remember to bring your portfolio to class again! Â Check out our Andy Warhol Pop Art Photography from last week below!
Please check our calendar for class times and dates. Â We are able to prorate classes, so it’s never to late to join in the fun, unless a class is full!
We are looking to another fun-filled, ocean-themed week ahead!
