Kim was born and raised here in Texas. She grew up near Dallas and attended Texas State University in San Marcos. While at Texas State, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design with an Art minor. She also met her husband in college and they have resided in Austin for the past 21 years.
Her passion for interior design continued after college where she worked in a variety of design markets ranging from residential interior design to being a design blogger for a large retail company. When she and her husband decided to start a family, Kim left design to raise her children. She initially decided to become a Preschool teacher so she could be close to her kids. She quickly fell in love with being a teacher and the responsibility of positively impacting the precious lives of children.
As a young mom, Kim loved to take her kids out on daily adventures around Austin. The outings always involved art, nature or playgrounds, and they usually made their way to places like Zilker Park, Barton Springs or Bull Creek. As her kids grew into very active and involved teens, Kim continued to care for others by working with senior adults. She cared for seniors through volunteer organizations and found opportunities to provide in-home care for individual senior adults. Caring for others is one of the places in life where Kim finds joy and fulfillment.
For Kim, it is a joy and honor to work with the Lupine Lane Hummingbird children and families. She is excited to be in a place where she can put all her passions to work each day! Kim knows just how special a Preschool classroom is and what a big honor it is to care for your children. She is thrilled to help them grow daily!
