Hi, I am Shay Suazo. I am originally from New Mexico. Since 2016, my husband and I have been calling Texas home. We have two wonderful daughters.
I graduated Ottawa State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I also have a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Reading from Grand Canyon University.
Since 2004, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching general education in both elementary and middle schools, as well as special education at the elementary level. My teaching background has an emphasis in English Language Arts instruction, curriculum development and alignment, instructional coaching, assessment design, English as a Second Language support, special education, and providing dyslexia support through the Wilson program. One of my proudest moments as an educator was being named Teacher of the Year in the Marble Falls Schools Independent School District in 2021.
Recently, I started tutoring students to support their English Language Arts skills. Now, I’m thrilled to be part of Lupine Lane, where I can share my love of learning in fun and creative ways.
When I’m not teaching, I love traveling, diving into a good mystery book, spending quality time with my family, and I love animals, but most of all, my 19 year old kitty!
