My name is Uma Shirur, and I’m passionate about creating safe, nurturing, and engaging environments for young children. After graduating with First Class honors in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Karnataka University in 1991, I built a strong career in STEM before turning my focus toward early childhood education.

As a parent and longtime classroom volunteer, I’ve supported teachers with lesson preparation, activities, and one-on-one learning. Raising two daughters who went on to complete postgraduate studies at prestigious U.S. universities gave me deep, hands-on experience in child development. With my STEM background, I especially enjoy helping children build confidence in early math and problem-solving skills, making learning both fun and approachable.

I enjoy practicing yoga ,traveling and listening to music. I am multilingual in English, Hindi, Kannada, and Marathi, and I enjoy collaborating closely with teachers and parents. At Lupine Lane, I’m excited to contribute as a Math and Literacy Teacher, helping preschoolers grow, explore, and thrive.
