“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.” – Coco Chanel
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams
Leadership skills instill confidence, help children solve problems creatively, work together as a team and work collaboratively. These are such important lessons but unless they are taught overtly (or with intention), children don’t necessarily pick up on them naturally. We at Lupine Lane feel that it’s our mission to encourage kindness, bravery, teamwork, self-confidence and collaboration in everything we do–for both young boys and girls.
This summer at Lupine Lane, our Boys and Girls Leadership Camps will be taking place at the same time (9a to 2p, June 24 to 28, 2019). Here’s a little bit more about these unique opportunities for the kids.
The Reach for the Stars Girls Leadership Camp led by Ms. Julia is meant to inspire, challenge and encourage girls to dream big! Her main goal is for girls to leave her camp feeling like they can take risks, make mistakes, solve problems, and believe they can do anything! We will talk about self confidence, how to always be ourselves and have some pretty epic dance parties! We’ll learn about prominent women that made a difference in history, female leaders in our own lives and what we can do to embody these qualities–be bold, take risks and think for ourselves. Campers work individually to create a special Leadership Journal over the course of the week. Ms. Julia will also lead the girls in creating a large scale collaborative mural that will celebrate teamwork, the beauty of creativity and the power of listening to your own voice within a group.

Be The Change Boys Leadership Camp led by Mr. Carl is a truly awesome experience for young boys. Mr. Carl’s main goal is for boys to leave camp feeling confident, brave, kind, and ready to leave the world in a better place than before. Boys will learn all about specific traits of good leaders as they learn about and discuss famous male leaders in history, leaders in their own lives, and ways they can lead in their classrooms, activities, peer groups and at home. Throughout the week, campers will work on an individual Leadership Journal that will be a reflection of their learning and growth as they participate in the different lessons and activities and begin to synthesize the different qualities that make a leader, how they embody these characteristics and how they can use them to make the world a better place. Mr. Carl will also lead the group in building a project as a team, and conduct different activities to instill how cooperation and leadership go hand in hand.
